Chicken à la King—the king of beers, that is…

My friends, at times, have accused me of being too “Martha” in my entertaining style. Since all of my BBQs seem to have themes, my answer to their ridicule was this Labor Day’s menu—the Trailer Park Menu. Yep, ya got your beer can chicken (for those of you not familiar with this culinary wonder, it’s chicken smoked with a beer can stuck up its butt —and it’s damn tasty), Ritz Cracker canapés with cream cheese and cocktail sauce, Chex Mix, Fritos with onion soup dip, iceberg chunks with bottled thousand island (because we all need our veggies), grilled pinwheel melts of Miracle Whip tuna salad and American cheese on Wonder bread, and some mayo-centric potato salad. Dessert: Oreos with pop-rocks in the creamy center right outta the package.
Take that, my friends! I got to drink my bud heavy, stand over my Weber and watch you all enjoy the hell out of it! And, to top that, I think I personally ate enough preservatives to stay youthful forever—bonus! Hope everyone had a fun summer! I sure did!
