Edible Antiquity
Rare, ancient Hebraic coin from 68 AD, minted during the revolt against the Roman Empire, was found—and eaten.
Here’s a cake I did for a numismatist, famed for his expertise in ancient coins. Note that this cake is an exact replica of the ancient shekel, with one exception: his name is on the chalice. The coin is antiquated silver but the cake is lemon with custard filling covered in white chocolate ganache. The real treasure is the person who ate it. Happy birthday, Mel!
