“You gotta putt it and cut it.”
–That’s what my cousin Tami said about the cake I made for her dad (my Uncle Eddie) on his 80th bday in Vegas last weekend.
An avid poker player and golfer, Uncle Eddie has the distinction of having three holes-in-one during his life so far (one at Pebble Beach :)). He even had a license plate that said “3HOLS 1”. But, now it’s four; because at his party, right after the birthday song, he got to hit the molded white chocolate golf ball off a tee on top of the cake right into the hole as I lifted the fondant flag. Note that an edible royal flush sits lit up in the corner. My wish is that this pistachio cake with marzipan buttercream filling bring him all of the wonderful luck he so richly deserves!
